Jan. 13--The country's key economic planning agency is worried that the proposed amendment of a law that provides for a close watch on state-private sector joint ventures worth up to one billion baht could open the way for corruption.
The National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB) opposes the Treasury Department's efforts to change the law.
The department claims that the law impedes its planned joint ventures with the private sector. Its move follows Finance Minister Somkid Jatusripitak's call for it to utilise its land bank fully in order to boost government revenue.
