Jan. 11--Toyota Motor Corp has set aside four billion baht to make Thailand its first research and development centre in the Asia-Pacific region with a staff of 300 engineers, the industry minister said yesterday.
A vehicle test-drive centre covering 2,000 rai would be built as a part of the project, Somsak Thepsuthin said.
The project will accommodate the relocation of Toyota's entire pickup truck production from Japan to Thailand, a move costing 30 billion baht.
