Jan. 11--Companies may now deduct up to 1.5 times the cost of training and staff education expenses from corporate tax liabilities, the Revenue Department said yesterday.
The new deduction is aimed at encouraging companies to increase investment in staff training and education.
Expenses incurred from sending staff to train at state or private educational institutions or training centres are deductible from income tax calculations.
Employees must return to their companies once training or studies are completed.
Expenses for internal training courses established by a company are also deductible, although courses must be approved by the ...
