Jan. 6--The Post and Telegraph Department (PTD) will assume the role of a shadow national regulator to resolve network interconnection wrangles in an attempt to ease the conversion of state concessions.
The department's new director-general Rianchai Reowilaisuk, explaining the plan in an interview, said that the PTD had been assigned the role until the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) could be established.
Information and Communications Technology Minister Surapong Suebwonglee wanted the department to prepare all the paperwork before the commission is established.
