Jan. 3--Believing in its future market potential, a small venture to produce furniture, dining and office tables, utensils and home and garden items from sugar palm wood is poised to grow.
Former graphic designer Pornprasit Arunpiyachart and his partner initially set out to make products from sugar palm nuts and fronds. After 18 months the venture collapsed, mainly due to management's lack of marketing experience.
The other partner eventually sold his entire interest to Mr Pornprasit, who is preparing to establish his own company to continue production.
