Feb. 11--Petronas, Malaysia's state petroleum company, remains committed to supporting the construction of the Thailand-Malaysia gas pipeline although it has started an alternative plan to tap gas from Indonesia, according to a senior executive of PTT Plc, the Thai partner in the pipeline project.
Petronas had agreed to buy gas from the Natuna field in Indonesia as a substitute for supplies from the Joint Development Area (JDA), said Prasert Bunsumpun, senior executive vice-president for PTT's gas business group.
