Feb. 7--Expecting continuous growth in the air-conditioner market, Trane (Thailand) has forecast a sales increase of 11 percent this year to three billion baht.

Managing director Surichai Patarakitnirun said local demand for air-conditioners was rising steadily, especially for high-quality models. In addition to the improved economy, demand was mainly derived from the rebounding property market, resulting in 10 percent growth in the value of the overall air-con market to 12 billion baht last year.

However, competition has intensified, leading to price-cutting and aggressive sales promotion campaigns.
