Feb. 6--Bangkok city officials say they are closely monitoring the construction of a new Carrefour branch on Lat Phrao Road for potential zoning violations.
The superstore originally planned a building with more than 20,000 square metres of floor space. However, the site, between Lat Phrao Sois 5 and 9, straddles both red and orange zones. As a result, the city could not approve the original construction plan, Wallop Suwansunthorn of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration's the building control division, said.
