Feb. 6--Property developers should learn from the past and ensure that supply and demand are balanced to ensure sustainable growth, Finance Minister Somkid Jatusripitak said yesterday.

While property had helped stoke economic growth for two years, fears of fresh overheating leading to a speculative bubble were overblown, he said.

But authorities were ready to impose measures, such as a clampdown on housing credit, if imbalances arose, Dr Somkid told an industry-sponsored seminar.
