Feb. 5--Two state banks and two commercial banks have agreed to lend a combined 3.6 billion baht to the National Housing Authority to finance the construction of new housing units for low-income buyers.
The banks are BankThai, the Government Housing Bank (GHB), the Government Savings Bank (GSB) and Siam City Bank.
GHB president Khan Prachuabmoh said the units were expected to be completed by the middle of next year.
BankThai will be the lead bank, with each of the four institutions contributing 900 million baht. The government will contribute one billion baht for the 4.6-billion-baht project.
