Jun. 4--APPLE VALLEY, Calif.--Members of the California Tea Party are making their way up to Sacramento for a press conference and to distribute tea bags to state legislators in a symbolic protest that parallels the Boston Tea Party more than 200 years ago.

The press conference will be held at noon Monday on the west steps of the state Capitol.

The bipartisan California Tea Party is protesting the state's diversion of tax revenues from the High Desert to Sacramento for statewide use.
