Mar. 7--A forum aimed at establishing a benchmark for fair interconnection charges among fixed-line and wireless phone operators has failed to reach a unanimous decision.

The forum was chaired by Information and Communications Technology Minister Surapong Suebwonglee who tried to push for a speedy conclusion to the interconnection charge within three months.

Dr Surapong said it was difficult to reach a decision with all the conflicting proposals by representatives of the operators. If no agreement could be found then the ministry would consult its lawyers as to possible solutions, he said.
