Mar. 7--More effective methods to deal with provincial cable operators that pirate signals of United Broadcasting Corp Plc (UBC) will be the subject of talks next week between the Commerce Ministry and the Public Relations Department (PRD).

Deputy Commerce Minister Wattana Muangsuk said penalties for violators should be set out in the cable operating policies of the PRD, which licenses the provincial ventures.

Mr Wattana said he would also work with UBC, the country's largest pay-television operator, to collect evidence of piracy and bring cases to court. UBC has announced a reward of 100,000 baht to informants who ...
