Mar. 6--MasterCard expects to see double-digit growth in credit card issuing and spending to continue this year, despite increasing competition from market rivals and tighter regulation from the Bank of Thailand.
Basker Rangachari, vice-president and country manager for MasterCard International, said outstanding cards last year was 1.46 million, up 126 percent from 2001.
Gross volume spending totalled US $2.02 billion last year, up 297 percent from the year before.
