Mar. 6--Confused about what Thai Farmers Bank has to do with farmers? Well, wonder no more.
The 58-year-old bank is changing its English name to Kasikornbank Plc, a direct phonetic representation of its Thai name, which remains unchanged.
The bank's trading symbol on the Stock Exchange of Thailand will also be changed from TFB to KBANK. Shareholders must still approve the proposal to change the bank's articles of association at the annual meeting on April 3.
Adit Laixuthai, a TFB senior vice-president, said the change was aimed at unifying the bank's name in both Thai and English.
