Mar. 5--United Broadcasting Corporation Plc (UBC), the country's largest pay-TV operator, will raise its monthly fees by nearly 13 percent to 1,413 baht from 1,253 baht for its full package of 29 channels, claiming a higher operating cost.

The Silver Package, with 10 channels, will cost 21 percent more, rising to 928 baht from 768 baht. The new prices include VAT but exclude the monthly equipment fee of 200 baht.

The new prices, approved in January by the Mass Communication of Thailand (MCOT), will take effect in May.
