Mar. 5--TelecomAsia plans to import dual-mode phones that combine PCT and GSM mobile technologies in one handset in the second quarter, providing its PCT subscribers with countrywide access.
With the dual-mode handsets, users will be able to use their personal cordless telephone, or PCT, handsets in Bangkok as well as in the provinces to connect with friends nationwide through TA Orange's cellular networks. PCT users in Bangkok pay three baht per call but once outside of the capital, charges will be based on cellular rates.
