Mar. 4--Trading volume at the Bangkok Gems and Jewellery Fair exceeded expectations with a record 17 billion baht, boding well for achieving the targeted 12 percent growth in overall jewellery exports this year.
Sunee Sriorathaikul, president of the Thai Gem and Jewellery Traders Association, said spot sales during the five-day fair at Impact, Muang Thong Thani, were almost five billion baht, on top of more than 12 billion baht in advanced orders.
