Mar. 3--Wet markets are still the most popular places for consumers to buy fresh foods, despite the proliferation of international hypermarket chains, according to ACNielsen (Thailand) Co.
The research found that 85 percent of the participants enjoyed shopping in wet markets to buy fruits, vegetables, meat and seafood, while 23 percent chose to go to hypermarkets and 15 percent to supermarkets.
In terms of spending, 59 percent said most of their money went to hypermarkets, while only 6 percent of shopping funds went to purchases in wet markets.
