Feb. 14--Performance contracting, a new energy-conservation solution with guaranteed savings, will be a key driver for local conservation interests, whose market size could reach 17 billion baht within two years, industry experts say.
The huge potential has drawn interest from major players in air-conditioning systems, including market leader Trane, Carrier and York, as well as Japan's Daikin and Erbara.
Surichai Patarakitnirun, managing director of Trane (Thailand), said that so far the company was the only active player providing performance contracting solutions.
