Feb. 12--Some 165 listed companies had dividend yields of more than 3 percent last year, outstripping fixed bank deposits, according to the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET).
Of the 400 firms listed on SET and the Market for Alternative Investment (MAI), 184 firms, or 46 percent, paid dividends for their 2002 performance.
Of these, 163 SET-listed firms and two MAI-listed firms had dividend yields exceeding 3 percent, of which 27 posted yields of more than 12 percent.
Topping the list was Thai Wah Food with a dividend yield of 44.8 percent, followed by property firm Amata Corp at 41.5 percent and Fancy Wood at 34.8 percent.
