Apr. 1--The Thai Chamber of Commerce says Australia should ease non-tariff barriers and other obstacles to Thai exports if a bilateral free trade agreement is to move forward.
Ajva Taulananda, chairman of the chamber, said that while members were broadly supportive of the agreement, more changes were needed to ensure fairness for all sides.
"We don't agree with the details of the Australian proposal. Overall, we believe the focus shouldn't be only on waiving import tariffs, but that the agreement should also look at unfair measures that impede trade as well," he said.
