Mar. 13--Debt-ridden Siam VMC Automobile Co, the country's sole maker of locally branded one-ton pickup trucks, is struggling to resume production at its Chachoengsao plant and is asking the Industry Ministry for assistance.
President Wiwat Praepriwngam yesterday submitted a letter to Industry Minister Somsak Thepsuthin seeking support from the minister to find strategic partners or sources of capital to help the company resume production.
