Mar. 13--The Securities and Exchange Commission plans to regroup mutual fund categories and offer performance rankings for investors within the next few months.
SEC spokeswoman Saranya Chindavanig said the programme was part of a broader policy aimed at strengthening the role of institutional investors in the capital market and educating investors about opportunities offered through mutual funds.
She said the SEC and the Association of Investment Management Companies had nearly finalised a performance ranking system for the industry, which investors could then use to compare returns from one fund to the next.
