Mar. 11--PTT Plc is pressing its natural gas suppliers to cut the prices of output from three gas fields in the Gulf of Thailand in a bid to lower electricity costs.
The suppliers in the Pailin, Bongkot and Joint Development Area (JDA) fields are being urged to cut their prices by 2 percent or two to three baht, from 120-130 baht per one million British thermal units (BTU) currently.
If the suppliers agreed, PTT would save around 20 billion baht throughout the 20-year concession period, said Prasert Bunsumpun, senior executive vice-president for PTT's natural gas business group.
