Apr. 12--The Finance Ministry expects to return to a balanced budget position by 2005, two years ahead of earlier targets, Finance Ministry Suchart Jaovisidha said yesterday.
He said government revenues this year were expected to exceed targets by 100 billion baht due to higher economic growth more efficient tax collection.
For the first half of fiscal 2003 ending on March 31, the Revenue, Excise and Customs departments took in 425.7 billion baht, up 15.3 percent year-on-year and 10.9 percent above the target.
