Apr. 11--National Petrochemical Plc plans to issue up to 2.4 billion baht in bonds later this year to finance its US$130-million downstream plastic billet plant.

Earlier, the company's directors approved the issue of 5.4 billion baht worth of debentures to finance the project, with three billion baht issued last year.

President Viroj Mavichak said NPC aimed to finish construction of the new plant by August next year, in time to tap the upturn in the petrochemical cycle. The plant will produce high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic billet, with an annual production capacity of 250,000 tons. HDPE is a raw material in the ...
