Apr. 9--Local stocks rallied over 1 percent yesterday on investor expectations that the Iraqi war could be drawing to a close.
The Stock Exchange of Thailand index closed at 375.82 points, up 3.89, on turnover worth 10.7 billion baht. Banking shares rose 1.11 percent, property was up 1.69 percent and building and furnishings rose 1.09 percent.
Analysts said overall sentiment was positive as US troops continued to close in on the Iraqi capital of Baghdad.
