Apr. 7--Using a mobile phone to buy a soft drink from a vending machine is no longer science fiction but in fact one of the planned highlights of a coming event that will highlight the latest technology in information and telecommunications.
The 11th CommunicAsia 2003, Asia's largest exhibition of its kind with expected participation from companies all over the world, will be held in Singapore from June 17-20.
Among the exhibitors, the Japanese giant NTT DoCoMo will demonstrate its c-mode technology, used in wireless payments, for the first time in the region.
