Thai Producer of Electric Meters Expects Sales Growth of 16 Percent This Year.

Apr. 7--Oriental Electric Industry Co (OEIC), a producer and distributor of electric meters, pumps and motors, expects sales growth of 16 percent this year in line with the economic recovery.

Somchin Leelaket, OEIC's vice-president, said the company projected 2.2 billion baht in sales this year, up from 1.9 billion baht last year. It generated sales of 1.5 billion baht in 2001.

Established 28 years ago, Oriental Electric Industry Co is a Thai-Japanese joint venture which manufacturers various equipment and tool products such as electric meters, motors, pumps, capacitors, wire-cutting equipment.
