Apr. 5--Amid the gloom that has befallen the travel industry, Thailand is going off the beaten track to draw Sars-scared and war-jittery tourists to its "unseen" attractions.
The government is spending 160 million baht to draw the world's attention to some attractions that could be listed in Ripley's Believe It or Not -- including crabs that make low-pitched squawking noises like chickens when mating in Phangnga, and an underwater temple in Kanchanaburi.
