Apr. 4--Upstart airline Phuket Air, owned by Andaman Club hotel-casino mogul Vikrom Aisiri, has announced ambitious plans to make long-haul flights to European destinations.
The airline, which flies domestic routes as well as to neighbouring countries, said it would lease a Boeing 747 for the trans-continental services.
The cost is expected to be in the billions of baht as the airline not only has to invest in aircraft but pilots and crew, according to Kanin Phuvastien, senior vice-president of Phuket Airlines.
