Apr. 2--Thai Military Bank plans to raise its registered capital to 100 billion baht through the issue of six billion new shares with a par value of 10 baht each.
Bank president Siri Ganjarerndee said two billion shares would be reserved for a rights issue to existing shareholders and four billion shares for a private placement to new investors.
The re-capitalization plan was expected to be complete by June or July, he added.
Finance Minister Suchart Jaovisidha said separately that the re-capitalization would be "no more than 30 billion baht", adding that no capital write-down was planned before the issue of new shares.
