May 14--Worldwide Link LLC (WWL) has been selected to run a distribution centre in the United States for Thai handicrafts from suppliers involved in the One Tambon, One Product project.
WWL, a Thai-owned firm based in the US, signed a five-year agreement yesterday with the Department of Industrial Promotion. The centre, expected to be named Handicraft, is in Atlanta, site of a major annual gift fair.
WWL general manager Komes Armradit said the company had rented an 1,800-square-metre building and spent 20 million baht on decoration. Goods have been on sale since January but no date has been set for the official opening.
