May 13--The anticipated huge drop in the number of Thai students going to Sars-affected regions will give a big boost to the Chinese language education business in Thailand, with growth of 200 percent in the second half of this year, according to the local market leader.
Several hundred Thai students each year took short courses for two to three months in China, Hong Kong and Singapore, said Wiyada Rungsmaithong, general manager of the Institute of Chinese Culture & Education (ICCE).
