May 10--U.S. Trade Representative Robert Zoellick has identified countries in Asia and the Middle East that could be candidates for future free-trade negotiations with the United States.
At the top of the list of potential candidates in the region were Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines, which already have Trade and Investment Framework Agreements with the United States, Mr. Zoellick said.
The world's largest economy has attracted a long list of countries hoping to spur their own economic development through a free trade pact with the US.
