May 9--The Government Housing Bank has proposed that the Finance Ministry establish a new centre to gather information about the property market.
Kavee Siripas, GHB senior executive vice-president, said having the data centre under the Finance Ministry would help the centre co-ordinate with other state agencies to gather information about property markets.
A state agency would also be a neutral source of information for the private sector, he said.
Mr Kavee said up-to-date databases on supply and demand in the property markets was crucial for developers planning investments and monitoring market trends.
