May 7--Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra has ordered authorities to crack down on the widespread exploitation of mainland Chinese tourists.
Any tour operators implicated in unscrupulous practices would have their licences revoked, government spokesman Sita Divari quoted Mr Thaksin as saying at the cabinet meeting yesterday.
Tourism and Sports Minister Sonthaya Khunpluem was directed to look into the problem as any exploitation of tourists would tarnish the image of Thailand's tourism industry.
