May 5--A new compilation of data on Thailand's manufacturing sector will be introduced on July 30, according to Damri Sukhotanang, director-general of the Industrial Economics Office.
In a project launched three years ago in an effort to make economic data in Thailand more transparent, information was collected from 1,300 manufacturers in 50 industrial sectors, accounting for 70 percent of the manufacturing sector's value.
The project includes the launching of eight key indices: manufacturing production, shipments, inventories, inventory ratio, capacity utilisation, labour input, labour productivity, and raw material. ...
