May 1--Sustainable competitiveness of Thai industries is possible with greater co-operation among related state agencies and efforts to boost efficiency in the private sector, according to Narongchai Akrasanee, an adviser to Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak.

Speaking at the presentation of the Thailand Corporate Excellence Awards on Tuesday, Dr Narongchai said the government had realised the importance of strengthening competitiveness of Thai industries and had allocated a budget to support the project.
