Jun. 13--Thailand's advertising industry has survived the economic impact of Sars relatively well, chalking up nearly 17 percent growth in advertising billings in the first five months of this year, and is on course to achieve a 10-15 percent rise for the full year.
Growth projections had been cut earlier this year to about 8 percent due to the impact of the war in Iraq and the Sars outbreak.
Last year, spending in the media industry totalled 61.21 billion baht, a 15.38 percent rise compared with 2001.
