Jun. 12--Two factions in the steel industry have agreed to work out an alternative to settle their dispute over the anti-dumping tariffs imposed on hot-rolled steel imports.
The agreement was reached at a meeting yesterday chaired by Rachane Potjanasunthorn, director-general of the Foreign Trade Department.
With hot-rolled steel producers on one side and cold-rolled steel producers and industries using cold-rolled steel on the other, the parties agreed to jointly find out which types or specifications of hot- and cold-rolled steel could not be obtained or used locally.
