Jun. 11--Asia Wireless Communication Co plans to spend between one billion and two billion baht in the second phase of network expansion to raise the quality of its PCT service.

Managing director Adiruth Thotha-veesansuk said the expansion, likely to take place by the end of the third quarter, would include upgrading the PCT (personal cordless telephone) network to accommodate wireless data communication.

He said the first expansion phase, including the development of an "intelligent network", cost 18 billion baht.

AWC is currently testing the sending and receiving of wireless data at 64 kilobits per second ...
