Jun. 11--The Industrial Promotion Department will spend about 19 million baht this year and 40 million baht next year to promote clusters of certain industries, according to director-general Sumonmarn Kalyasiri.
Textiles, processed foods and automobiles and parts have been selected as the target industries to develop their own clusters.
Clustering involves grouping industries together to make them more competitive by saving costs on transport, logistics and accounting management, while offering flexible and mutually beneficial production.
