Jun. 10--TOT Corporation yesterday defended its award of 1.175-billion-baht contract for a new billing system as transparent and said there were no conflicts of interest from cross-shareholdings.
TOT president Sittichai Songpiriyakit said there was no investment connection between the winning bidder, Telemetics, and UCEC, a firm that served as an adviser to the project.
An investigation by a TOT-appointed committee found no proof of a legal cross-holding between the project consultant and the contract recipient.
