Jun. 10--Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group, the giant Japanese non-life insurer, yesterday became the latest foreign company to enter Thailand's growing life insurance business.
"The timing is now quite right, as we have gathered enough experience in the life insurance business in Japan," said Takeo Inokuchi, the group's chairman and chief executive officer.
"As well, in Thailand, the country's economy is growing steadily, generating higher income for its workers, and moreover, the group has been established here for up to 50 years."
