Jun. 9--The Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) plans to invest 11.2 billion baht in electricity transmission systems to satisfy the demand of 440,000 households in unelectrified areas, said Energy Minister Prommin Lertsuridej.
Of that amount, the first 7.6 billion baht was set aside for installing home solar cells free of charge for 290,000 households.
Those people resided in areas where transmission lines could not be constructed across forest reserves, islands and mountains.
