Jun. 5--Japan-based Fujikura Ltd will invest roughly 2.2 billion baht to raise manufacturing capacity at its electronics subsidiary in Thailand to serve rising demand from abroad.
Through Precision Circuit Technology Thailand (PCTT), founded 15 years ago, the company will expand its annual capacity of flexible printed circuit boards (PCBs) by 250,000 square metres, from two million square metres at present.
The expansion will create an additional 1,000 jobs -- PCTT currently has 6,000 staff -- and generate annual revenue of 1.2 billion baht in exports, according to an executive who requested anonymity.
