Jun. 2--The annual trek for a face-to-face meeting with the tax man could be a thing of the past, as Internet tax filings continue to soar in popularity.
Suparat Kawatkul, director-general of the Revenue Department, said Internet filings for personal income tax this year totalled 238,000, an increase of 290 percent from last year.
Even greater growth is expected next year, as the department plans to encourage the two-million-plus members of the civil service to also submit their tax forms online.
