May 28--General Motors Corp. has invested about $500,000 in a new training program at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College to provide advanced classes for automotive technicians.
The GM Service Technical College Satellite Training Center, located on the college's western campus in Goochland County, opened yesterday.
The site will offer classes on the latest in automotive technology, diagnostics and repair for about 2,200 technicians who work for GM dealers in Virginia. Some technicians from other states are likely to travel here for classes as well, said Ronald A. Strayhorn, GM's regional service manager.
